Brew Day Timer Calculator — Full Brew Day Timeline

Calculate your total brew day duration and plan a step-by-step timeline from grain to fermenter.

How We Calculate This

Timeline Calculation

The calculator sums fixed and variable time estimates for each step in the brew day. Steps include grain milling, equipment setup, strike water heating, mash rest, vorlauf, sparging, boil ramp, boiling, hop additions, chilling, transfer and clean-up.

Variable Steps

Mash time and boil time are entered directly. Sparge method determines sparge duration: no-sparge (5 min), batch sparge (20 min) or fly sparge (35 min). Cooling method determines chill time: counterflow (15 min), immersion (25 min) or ice bath (45 min).

Start Time Calculation

The calculator subtracts the total brew day duration from 17:00 to give a suggested start time if you want to be done by 5pm. Adjust based on your schedule.
